The Lodz East Asia Meeting is an annual conference for scholars interested in political, economic and social aspects of Asian affairs. After the success of the last seven editions, we wish to continue the meeting as an international event. It will provide a valuable opportunity for the exchange of ideas between researchers from different countries. We wish for the Lodz East Asia Meeting to become a forum for both experienced academics and young scholars who always make up a significant number of the participants. The conference will focus on examining the dynamic changes in Asia in the last years. The US under the Trump administration started controversial trade wars with China and other Asian countries. At the same time, Washington suddenly shifted from policy of confrontation to rapprochement with Pyongyang, which led to a historic summit meeting between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un.
Become a stakeholder in the IAFOR mission of facilitating international exchange, encouraging intercultural awareness, and promoting interdisciplinary discussion. This event will afford an exceptional opportunity for renewing old acquaintances, making new contacts, networking, and facilitating partnerships across national and disciplinary borders. Since its founding in , IAFOR has brought people and ideas together in a variety of events and platforms to promote and celebrate interdisciplinary study, and underline its importance. With the IAFOR Research Centre, we have engaged in a number of interdisciplinary initiatives we believe will have an important impact on domestic and international public policy conversations.
