For over years, Catholic schools in the Diocese of Providence have partnered with parents throughout Rhode Island and the surrounding region. Supporting parents in their role as the primary educators of their children, schools collaborate to educate the whole child — mind, heart, and spirit. As a ministry of the local church, the schools provide daily opportunities for the students to encounter the love of God in Jesus Christ and receive formation in the fullness of the Catholic faith. The Stewardship and Development Office is responsible for the implementation of the Bishop's Pastoral Letter, "Stewardship: A Disciples Response," conducting all diocesan level development issues. The Catholic Charity Appeal supports numerous ministries and programs of the Diocese of Providence which provide social, educational and spiritual support to thousands of Rhode Islanders each year regardless of race, creed or background. The ministries supported by the annual Appeal include social service ministries providing direct support to the poor, the hungry and homeless, emergency rent and medical aid, and community advocacy for needs in the community. The mission of the Catholic Foundation of Rhode Island is to procure and build endowment funds while serving as a permanent organization for the management and administration of funds given to the Diocese of Providence. The Foundation assists individuals and organizations with responsible Christian stewardship for the preservation and promotion of the Roman Catholic Church in Rhode Island. As Catholics, we are encouraged to share what we have with others, to respect our neighbors as ourselves and to assist those less fortunate.

The Diocese of Providence exists to fulfill the mission of the Universal Catholic Church by being the model of Jesus, teacher, sanctifier, and servant and to proclaim the Good News through evangelization, cathechesis and service. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. The Diocese of Providence is a geographic delineation for a community of hundreds of thousands of Roman Catholics who worship in the diocesan parishes and shrines.
